I chose to become a certified educator because I want to broaden the scope of educator options where I live in Mid-Missouri. The only other educators near me are religiously based, and while I respect their work and perspective I hope to provide education and support that is inclusive and accessible for all those seeking to learn FAM.
I support people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, and belief systems. FAM has made a huge impact in my life. I find it to be one of the most empowering practices I know for increasing my connection to my body. I love it as a body literacy tool, whether folks choose to use it for contraception, conception, hormonal health, or just to be better in tune with themselves! I'm passionate about teaching FAM so that more people can reclaim knowledge and connection of their own bodies and cycles.
When I'm not geeking out about the endocrine system, I'm working on a Body Literacy & Sex Ed Curriculum for kids and teens, attending births as a doula and student Midwife, and doing my best to dismantle systems of oppression and environmental destruction in my community. I teach part time at City Garden, my local outdoor elementary school. I spend as much time as I can gardening, hiking, dancing, and learning.
